The Team 

You will join a team responsible for sourcing the reference and pricing data used by the rest of the firm. Our teams are small, motivated, and highly productive.  We work closely with research, portfolio implementation, trading, and operations in everything we do, and all learn from each other in building world-class systems. 


Your Role 

You will lead a small and focused team of engineers responsible for designing and implementing new data pipelines for sourcing reference and analytics data used by everyone in the firm.  You will participate in and contribute to design decisions as we build out the system, and work with users across the firm as we roll out new data pipelines to production.  You will spend the majority of your time actively contributing to the production code base, while also managing a small local team of developers working on the same project. 


You will be responsible for: 

  • This is a hands-on position that requires design and development
  • Reviewing code and providing feedback to associate team members 
  • Ensuring quality of software developed by the team 
  • Liaising with business stakeholders and onshore engineering counterparts to collaborate on all stages of SDLC
  • Working with engineering team leads to manage development tasks and allocate work among team members, and providing transparency into the team’s development effort

 What You’ll Bring 

  • Bachelors/Masters/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively manage projects with stakeholders and onshore counterparts.
  • Familiarity with software development best practices
  • Outstanding coding, debugging, and analytical skills
  • 5+ years of experience building applications in Python is required. 
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, experience with Angular or other web frameworks is a plus
  • Experience in Java or C# is a plus. 
  • Experience with SQL and/or No-SQL databases a plus 
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud providers is a plus
  • Interest or experience in finance domain is a plus
